Several shared working space businesses have opened and expanded around downtown Chattanooga the last few years.

The newest entry in this category in Chattanooga is E I Spaces.

The shared working space has been open a little more than a week. It’s another sign of the growth of the entrepreneur community in and around downtown.

E I Spaces is headquartered in Nashville with locations in that area as well.

Chattanooga native Derek Rende is operating this office in University Tower on East 4th street near Blood Assurance.

They say there is a need for work space as Chattanooga grows and as more solo entrepreneurs, free-lancers, and small businesses move into the city.

E I Spaces told us Chattanooga is a great fit for what they do.

Jon Pirtle, E I Spaces’ CEO, told us about visiting the city before opening the Chattanooga location.

“It looked to me a lot like Nashville did fifteen, ten years ago,” Jon Pirtle said. “The way they were tearing down buildings, throwing up apartments, a lot of condos you know. It just had a different vibe, and I saw a lot of young people.”
