People working in Chattanooga will soon have a new office-space option.
Wednesday morning, business leaders hosted a ribbon cutting for a new office concept called E-Spaces.
Located on the second floor of University Tower, 651 E. 4th St., E-Spaces is a modern office designed for business and professional leaders to work, learn and network.
The new concept, which already has locations in Nashville, will open to the local public on June 1.
E-Spaces CEO Jon Pirtle said there’s a demand in Chattanooga for more office space.
“Chattanooga has got a lot of small businesses—a lot of large businesses —who need off-site offices [and] off-site meeting space,” he said.
Anyone who needs an area to work can use part of the 7,800-square-foot space, he also said.
“If you need a meeting room we can do that,” Pirtle said. “You don’t have to have an office here; you don’t have to be a member here. If you’re a company that needs a meeting room for two or three hours, call us. You don’t need to go rent a hotel when you can rent a meeting room here for $30 or $35 bucks an hour.”
There are about 28 different offices that range in size to fit almost any size group in, Pirtle said.
“There will be one-person offices [and others that fit] up to six, or seven people, so you can grow as you need,” Pirtle said. “We have conference rooms available for as little as four people up to 10 or 12.”
It costs $400 a month to work in open space. Leasing an office costs between $650 to $2,500.
In addition to a monthly membership, rooms are also available to rent for shorter lengths of time.
Members get access to a range of amenities, such as coffee, other drinks, internet and printing.
“You get to use the entire cafe, which is always going to be stocked with snacks, coffee, cokes, water and we actually have a Kegorator,” E-Spaces location manager Tiffani Moses said.
With a membership, there is no yearly contract, and it is possible to try out the space before getting a membership.
After finding success with two Nashville locations, leaders made the decision to expand into Chattanooga. T
hey also have plans to open a Franklin, Tennessee location and another in Florida, Vice President of Sales for the Chattanooga location Derek Rende said.
“With the way Chattanooga is growing and with all the startup companies that are here, this is a great place for a company that maybe doesn’t know the trajectory of their company yet,” he said. “They can come in here for six months or a year without getting into a long-term contract because they don’t know how much space that they might need.”
